about me

Hey, hello, hi! My name is Kelly and that is a very large, very serious, picture of my face.

This is my blog and I'm not entirely sure how to introduce myself, since this is the internet and all, but I'll give it my best go:

I'm 19 years old and probably the loudest, silliest, most crazy person you'll come across. For a long time I wasn't that way though, I fought anxiety, depression, inadequacy and a lack of faith in a God I had always loved, but never given my life completely to. I don't feel like I have anything mind blowing or incredible to say, in fact, I'm sure I'm fairly ordinary, but I love writing and I love sharing my story because I've found that when I open up about my trials or triumph, there is always someone who comes along and can relate.

There is power in our words and I just want to use mine to point others to Jesus and let them know how LOVED they are.

I love Jesus. I love the way He can refine me, shape me and break me and that it can be done in a beautiful, messy, glorifying way. I know that who I am today is a much different person than the Kelly from a few years ago, even a few months ago, and I know that it is only by the grace of God and the goodness that He has blessed me with that I am who I am.

I'm far from perfect, I'm obnoxious, tell lame jokes, and am fully a product of the homeschooled environment I spent the last few years in. But there is something so completely enthralling about this journey that I'm on that I couldn't stay quiet. So! Here I am, in this neat and tidy little corner of the internet, pouring my heart out to a bright screen and a bunch of people who google strange things and somehow come across this blog. Some think that that's weird, I think that it is too. But also cool.

By day I'm a pre school teacher, by night I'm a journaling fiend who occasionally whips out my mac and spills my guts to the interwebs. I love the church, eating unhealthy amounts of pizza, Netflix, sports, spring time, traveling, talking about the gospel, avoiding chores, teaching little kids, learning new things, long boarding, hiking, large bodies of water, not washing my hair, Pinterest, and a lot of other people, places and things.

I'm not sure how to end this little tidbit, I've never been good with goodbyes, mostly I sneak out but I can't really do that here. The internet is weird like that. Anyways: Thank you for stopping by, for whatever reason, wherever you are. I would love to hear from you, you can connect with me here, or the social media buttons that are right below my face or you know find me in a hammock in Portugal reading Anne of Green Gables because that's what I do with my life. (Just kidding, I'm pretending to be an adult and have bills to pay.)

Kick off your internet shoes and stay awhile, why don't you?
